British Columbia’s population is as diverse as its scenery. Nearly one in five British Columbians represents a visible minority, and close to 60 per cent of area residents are proficient in a language other than English. Every year, the province welcomes more than 40,000 new immigrants, with the majority coming from Asian countries. 

It all adds up to a unique cross-cultural mix that is reflected in the cities and communities, offices and stores, restaurants and recreation centres. It serves to enrich the fabric of the province.
