The Long Term Development Planner in Planning & Design Services is a senior professional position reporting to the Lead, Strategic Development Planning.  This position provides expert advice and operational solutions to ensure clients needs are met and future needs anticipated.  This position will provide leadership in the development and implementation of assigned projects and programs.  The position is responsible for the long and short term facility planning and the development of a prioritization strategy to adequately accomplish provision of health services in support of the AHS Strategic Plan and other health care strategies, service plans and community/regional service networks.  This individual works in concert with Zone and Site VPs, Capital Management and other AHS staff in development of capital priorities and supporting Preliminary Business Cases.  Other duties include tracking projects to monitor overall progress and adjust priorities as required for all existing and new approved master plans and projects on a provincial basis.  Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Healthcare Management, Architecture, Management or Planning plus appropriate license and designations. A minimum of 7 years in a healthcare planning role within an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity is preferred. Equivalence of education and experience may be considered.  The successful incumbent will be an effective communicator with strong organizational and influential skills and have experience and expertise in facilitating presentations to convey information to transfer knowledge.  Must have expert knowledge of the client group/function supported and ability to develop strategies and objectives. Previous experience and expertise in facilitating presentations to convey information or transfer knowledge these presentations are often to persuade or influence.
