Oral Reviews
Oral Review
Successful completion of an Oral Review is required
of every Intern Architect prior to registration. You will eligible
to apply
for
the Oral Review upon completion of at least 2800 hours of work
experience and completion of the mandatory professional development
seminars. A panel of three registered architects will be looking
for evidence from you that you have an overall understanding of
the architectural profession and its responsibilities. Your panel
will pose questions to determine the currency of your experience
and knowledge and your competence to practise in British Columbia.
The following are documents that will help prepare you for the
Oral Review:
Application for Registration
Upon successful completion of the National and Provincial requirements
you may apply for registration as an Architect!
You will be required to submit the following documents:
Applications for registration take from 2 to 6 weeks to process.
Your application will be reviewed by the Registration & Licensing
Board, followed by approval by the AIBC
Council. You will then be notified in writing and invited
to obtain a
seal/stamp and apply for a Certificate of Practice, should
you choose to become a principal or shareholder of an architectural
firm in order to practise independently.
