Learning Units

CES Participants (Architects AIBC, Architectural Technologists AIBC, and Intern Architects AIBC) who attend the AIBC Annual General Meeting are entitled to Learning Units. To assist in recording these Learning Units, CES Participants are required to register online in advance.

Advisory Resolutions

Advisory Resolutions are resolutions proposed by Architects in Good Standing for consideration at the Annual General Meeting. The process is conducted in accordance with the Professional Governance Act, Section 34, and with AIBC Bylaws. Resolutions consistent with professional expectations in the PGA, Bylaws (including the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct), along with supporting written statements, will be published on this webpage for Registrant review and consideration prior to the Annual General Meeting. Advisory Resolutions submitted by Architects AIBC in advance of the meeting are advisory to the Board, and the Board is not obligated to implement approved resolutions.

Advisory Resolutions must:

  • be submitted to the Registrar in the required format at least 45 days in advance of the Annual General Meeting;
  • be forwarded to Registrants at least 30 days prior to the Annual General Meeting as part of the meeting notice;
  • be approved by a two-thirds affirmative majority of the votes received from Architects in Good Standing at a General Meeting; and,
  • not be implemented if they are inconsistent with the PGA and its regulations or if they purport to make, amend, or repeal an AIBC Bylaw.
